1. Scope
DesiFlorida, operated by the individual site owner as a personal project (not a registered LLC or corporation) ("DesiFlorida") explains here how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the Platform.
2. What We Collect
What you give us
- Account data: name, email, phone, password (stored hashed)
- Listing content: titles, descriptions, images, contact info, location
- Support messages
- Payment data (handled by third-party processors - we do not store full card numbers)
What we collect automatically
- Device and browser data, IP address, pages viewed
- Location (with your consent via browser geolocation or ZIP entry)
- Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy)
- Logs and analytics

- Run and improve the Platform
- Process listings and moderate content
- Personalize content by region
- Send service-related emails
- Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Meet legal obligations
- Show relevant ads
4. Who We Share With
We may share information with:
- Other users: Contact details you publish on listings
- Service providers: Supabase (hosting/auth), Cloudflare (CDN/security), analytics, email vendors
- Advertising partners: As described in our ad disclosures
- Authorities: When law, subpoena, or safety requires it
- Acquirers: In a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
We do not sell personal information as defined under applicable state privacy laws.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- See the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and related data
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable
- Get a portable copy of your data

6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards - TLS encryption, hashed passwords, access controls, and periodic security reviews. No transmission or storage method is fully secure. See our Security Policy.
7. Data Breach Notification (FIPA)
If a breach affects personal information, we notify affected Florida residents and authorities as FIPA and other applicable laws require, without unreasonable delay.
8. Children
The Platform is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If we learn we have, we delete it promptly.
9. International Access
We operate from the United States. If you access the Platform from elsewhere, you consent to transfer and processing of your information in the U.S.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this Policy. Material changes appear on this page with a new effective date.
